Joe Hamilton, Matt Ross and Kip Adams said that they believe that this is the way Deer Steward II
should be handled and presented - away from the QDMA national office.
Joe Hamilton encouraged particpants to tell the group how they got involved with QDMA. This was done
in a firepot type setting.
Joe Hamilton gave the group a state of the union of QDMA to the group - times are tough - but we will
get through it.
Quality Whitetails reruns will appear on Pursuit.
The Bastow family hosted this event, this was a top notch QDM property/farm.
A breakfast cookout was sponsored and staffed by PA QDMA members - Steve Trupe, Scott Siebert,
Phil Anderson and QDMA member Scott Rushe.
Newspaper articles of interest from the Forest City News and the Wayne Independent were passed around.
These were stories of sightings of mt. lions.

Treasurers report - We have $4267.30 in the checking account.
Motion -made by Dave Wilcox to accept the treasurers report, seconded by Jack Sorber
Approved by ALL.

Secretary’s report - Last meetings minutes not ready.

Old Business -
Ed Stabak Youth Shoot was once again a big success, even though we did not take part in it.
The Branch president would like us to support this event next year, either with a gun, trail camera or
by having a booth at the event.

Susquehanna Federation of Sportsmens Youth Event - Al Cuevas will be took part by manning the compass,
topo map part of the event. QDMA did not have a part in this event because we could not get enough people
to man the booth. About 80 kids took part in the event.

New business -
Possible QDMA event on November 21, 2009 at the Inn at Montrose. This is to be a fun event/educational.
Suggestions that we invite people - with a $5 charge for attendance, request RSVP with money. each invitee
would be able to bring someone with them (also for another $5).
There could be a cash bar and vegetable/fruit trays.
Damien R. is working on some type of presentation.  Jim Dovin will check with Damien about this.
Bob Wagner will check with Dan Backer about possible dates.

Food Plots on SGL 140 & 35 -
Jack Sorber reported that there was to be a special spraying job done on the Gamelands 140 today but it was too wet.
There were a dozen trucks from the PGC, Biologist Ben Jones, Land Manager Rich Lupinsky were there,
NE Land Manager Supervisor was there. As they went over the area it showed that there was not enough
regrowth (autumn olive, multiflora rose, barberry, caroline buckhorn) to warrant spraying at this time.
The group walked the area and talked about things and made changes to the current management plan.
Jack Sorber and Ben Jones walked the area discussed things, with Jack Sorber
showing Ben Jones where some managment changes could be made -
such as cutting aspens to generate aspen regrowth, cutting dogwoods to generate regrowth.
Our food plots are doing well, the PGC likes the cooperative effort (QDMA & NWTF) that we have going on here.
Jack Sorber will get the food plot signs up.

3 Gun Raffle - much discussion and it was decided that we would draw the guns at the next - October mtg.
we still have about 150 tickets out there to sell.

Consulting on Wildlife Management - we should work on our list of wildlife management contractors.

PAQDMA State Report - Dave Wilcox and I tried to update the group about the last PA QDMA meetings
by commenting on the Antler Scoring,, Ag. Progress Days, replacing PA QDMA Directors, the Northeast Branch,
Huckleberry Branch and how are they going to move forward.

Jack Sorber spoke about how good of an organization QDMA is and that we should help our fellow branches
and the National QDMA.

Matt Sellers made all aware that the Home Depot in Johnson City NY has a good deal on sawtooth oaks
There are about 20 potted trees left for sale at $13 each.

Next meeting - October 26th, 630pm at the NRCS office.

Motion to adjourn made by Dave Sienko, seconded by Dave Taylor. Yes by ALL.
